Introducing OpenAI o1-preview
OpenAI introduced its “o1” AI model family with two versions: o1-preview and o1-mini. These models aim to tackle more complex tasks compared to the GPT series. As Carolyn MCloseky said, “They're designed to spend more time thinking before they respond and can tackle complex coding, science and math problems.” TechCrunch reported that in a qualifying exam for the International Mathematical Olympiad, a high school math competition, o1 correctly solved 83% of problems while GPT-4o only solved 13%, according to OpenAI.
